A2: Reflection

today we used adobe after effects to make a ball bouncing and moving around the screen. it was quite simple to understand. we used keyframes to move the ball as we wanted. The closer and further apart the keyframes were decided how fast and slow the ball moved.

production schedule

This is a screenshot of my production schedule on week five, unfortunately I had a setback since my block out and many of my models weren’t correctly saved due to my own mistakes. this week i have lots of modelling and uv unwrapping to do.

self assesment

Today we did a self assessment quiz to set targets for ourself. my main target is for better attendance to lessons but to also make sure I do communicate when I am stuck or unsure.

5/5/26

Today I am reflecting on the overall process of my model diorama creation. I’ve kept up to date and am confident I will reach the deadlines successfully, my island desert has come together well and I’m really happy with it, lastly I need to add my pond area and my small pond flowers.

I think I achieved my goals for my plan and I am happy with my work in texturing and modelling. I faced troubles with my models, one of the UV’s taking me two whole weeks to figure out and i eventually just had to ask my tutor. But throughout the process each step became a little bit easier and felt a little bit more achievable. I struggled with ‘normals’ since I wasn’t sure what they were but I figured out they were just faces that were flipped or facing the wrong way so I had to manually flip them. I also was later surprised by see through planes on my models. But it took five minutes of research and understanding to figure it out by myself without having to ask for help which I was proud of.

this shows my asset list, which I didn’t pay much attention to through the process of creating my diorama i found my production schedule more effective in helping me figure out what I needed to do since it had each process to creating each model all spread out.

This is my Audit list to reflect and ensure I’ve covered all targets properly in my blog work, it was helpful for my focus to read through the things I have written about each target and improve or add more to things I may have missed. also I am enjoying talking about my experience with each thing now I have completed and submitted my diorama. I feel proud I’ve been able to achieve my goals and reflecting on my work is fun to do.

reflection at the end of my project:

over the span of this project i have learned to work quickly and how to model more shapes to as they would naturally be. i learned that patience is key when coming up against something that isn’t always going to go right first try. i learned how to give a complicated model a good attempt at uv unwrapping on my own before giving up and i learned to have fun and enjoy building up a story in my head and trying to make it come alive with what I’m creating. I’m really proud of the fact i kept up to date with my production schedule through out the most of my project and how my textures came together when they were all put into the same environment. I’m really proud of my improvements on this project and within the course as a whole as to how inexperienced and behind i was compared to everyone else. i feel proud of my self for giving everything my best go and only asking for help after i had tried to face each problem after my own attempts. what went well my my modelling, I’m super impressed with how my models turned out since it was my first time ever attempting some of the things i created such as, palm tress and plant life since it is really hard to try to recreate some natural and complex shapes without making it look blocky. even though my models do have a cartoony look to them i think i really showed the best of my abilities. what didn’t go well was my struggles with uv unwrapping since even now I’m not fully confident with them and they were my biggest worry through out the whole project. if i could do the project again i think i would change the brief i chose since it felt like i was limited to what i could really create to what would fit the environment. i would like to dop it again and create a fun, luminous and chaotic environment. like the cyberpunk brief or the spacecraft one. my initial concept opposed to my final render didn’t change massively, it was only really the placement of some things and the amount of models i put in. i also added a few models that weren’t in my original sketches but i felt that throughout the creation of it those were necessary to bring something more for the eye to look at.

over all, im happy with what i made and proud of myself for doing it. i enjoyed this project a lot and found it to be the funnest thing we have done yet. i think this project helped me develop my createtivity and to express my work how i viewed it in my mind.
